London Landlord Accreditation Scheme UK Landlord Accreditation Partnership
Administered by London Borough of Camden

Summer Networking and Live BBQ Event, Friday 7 July 2017 - SOLD OUT

28/07/2017 00:00

Further to an informal consultation that took place earlier this year the Council has re-considered the proposals and now seeks to introduce only an additional HMO licensing scheme in Havering.

In order to inform a final decision which is expected to be made this Autumn, the Council is consulting on two proposals:

  1. An HMO Additional licensing scheme covering 12 Wards; or;
  2. An HMO Additional licensing scheme covering 4 Wards only

These two options are being considered because we have substantial evidence of problems associated with HMO’s in the four wards identified under the narrower option, however evidence to justify a wider scheme covering 12 of the borough’s 18 wards has also been collected. The Council is keen to ensure any scheme that it implements is rolled out within a sufficiently wide area in order to prevent the identified problems from spreading. Views are therefore sought on both of the above options.

Full details and maps of the proposed areas under consideration, together with a summary of the proposed fee charges and draft licence conditions can be found in the consultation document which can be viewed via our website: www.havering.gov.uk/consultations.

The Council has already sent out letters to all known landlords and agents who manage rental properties in Havering advising them of the proposals and we will be holding a number of drop in sessions where staff will be available to answer any questions about the schemes.  These will take place as follows:-
